Q: How long is Presto’s birthday party magic show?
A: Presto’s birthday party show usually lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. Allow extra time for any add-ons, including the live rabbit production or balloon twisting! The birthday party magic class runs approximately 70-80 minutes.
Q: How much is Presto’s birthday party magic show?
A: Final costs depends on your location, the number of kids (if you need additional giveaways), and other factors, but my fee starts at $195.
Q: What birthday party packages are available?
A: My BASIC birthday party package includes Presto’s Hilarious Birthday Magic Show, a special gift for the birthday child and a magic giveaway for all the kids. (Up to 15 included free, $1 each additional)
My DELUXE birthday party package features Presto’s Hilarious Birthday Magic Show, everything in the BASIC package, plus for the grand finale, your child will make a live rabbit appear in front of everyone!
My ULTIMATE birthday party package features Presto’s Hilarious Birthday Magic Show, everything in the DELUXE package, plus for the grand finale, Presto will float the birthday child in front of all their friends!
As another option, I offer my BIRTHDAY PARTY MAGIC CLASS! Designed for children ages 7-9, this highly-interactive option involves teaching the kids magic tricks of their own! I begin by performing each trick, then teach the kids how to perform it themselves! At the end of the class, each child takes home their own bag of tricks, an instruction booklet, a magic wand, and an Official Magic Class Diploma. Don’t worry about supplies, I bring everything! (This option runs about 70-80 minutes)
Q: What does it mean when Presto says he is a “professional magician?”
A: Presto the Magician is a full-time, professional magician. This means he works full-time at entertaining kids! It’s not just a hobby or something he does on the weekend! Presto attends workshops and conventions in addition to other professional development to constantly improve! He has the expertise that comes with having performed for tens of thousands of kids over a period of several years.
Q: When do I pay for Presto’s show?
A: Presto the Magician requires a $50 deposit to hold the time/date. The balance is due immediately following the performance on the day of the show. Payments may be made via cash, check, or credit card. Checks may be made out to “Kevin Witt” or “Presto the Magician.”
Q: Does Presto make balloon animals?
A: Presto the Magician is not a professional balloon twister! However, to add fun to your birthday party, Presto does offer a limited selection of simple balloon sculptures, including dogs, swords, flowers, ladybugs, parrots, etc.
Q: Do the children get anything after the magic show?
A: Yes, free giveaways are included for every birthday party! Most parents add these to the goody bags they’ve already put together. The free giveaway is usually a simple magic trick. I also offer “Presto’s Bag of Tricks!” that makes for a great party favor/goody bag. This and other magic-themed party items can be found at my Magic Shop! These can also be added to your birthday package over the phone! (If you’ve already booked a show, you should have received a coupon for 20% off your magic shop order! If not, simply email and we’ll get you one!)
Q: Does Presto perform outside the Portland area?
A: Yes, Presto performs all over the northwest, including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and California. For performances outside the Portland area, additional travel/lodging allowances are required.
Q: Does Presto guarantee his show?
A: Absolutely! “I guarantee that the children I perform for will enjoy the show and be entertained. After all, that’s what I’m there for! Certain circumstances are not covered by my guarantee, including, but not limited to tardiness due to inclement weather/adverse traffic conditions, illness or injury of any animals involved in the act, specific tricks or routines. If you have any questions regarding my guarantee, feel free to contact me!”
Q: Can Presto cater to children with special needs?
A: Sure! Please let me know ahead of time if any of the children have special needs so I can prepare the show to accommodate those needs!
Q: Is Presto’s show age-appropriate?”
A: Yes! Presto specializes in performing birthday parties for kids ages 4-8. Presto uses clean, family-friendly humor to entertain! In fact, just to be safe, Presto even avoids so-called “potty humor.”
Q: Can I have a joint birthday party with another child?
A: Sure! Having a joint birthday party is a cost effective way to bring Presto to your child’s birthday party! For the children to best enjoy the show, the age of the children whose birthdays are being celebrated should be no more than one year apart. (Trying to perform the same material for three year-olds and eight year-olds doesn’t work so well!)
Q: How many children can I have at my birthday party?
A: Presto recommends having a minimum of 10 kids, and a maximum of 25. For groups larger than 45 kids, there is an additional fee. I provide free giveaways for up to 15 kids, each additional child is $1/giveaway.
Q: My child is shy and won’t want to help on stage. Is this a problem?
A: Of course not! Presto has worked with very shy kids over the years. It’s not unusual for kids to be skeptical and a bit shy at first. However, five minutes into the show, most kids are usually laughing and having so much fun, they’ve lost all shyness and are eager to come up and help! However, no child is ever pressured to do anything they don’t want to do.
Q: Does Presto need anything, or are there any special requirements for his magic show?
A: Presto brings everything he needs, including tables, a backdrop, and a sound system. Please provide the following:
1.) An electric outlet located near the performance area
2.) A performance area at least 4ft x 8ft wide. (Most people use their largest room or have Presto perform in front of the fireplace.)
3.) An adult. (At least one adult, besides Presto, must be present in the room at all times). Presto strongly recommends having the adults and kids watch the show together at the same time. Doing so will eliminate distractions and the parents will have fun watching the kids!
Q: Does Presto perform outdoor birthday parties?
A: Presto typically does not perform outdoors. Even a slight breeze can make the show difficult, and children have a hard time enjoying the show with airplanes, bugs, and other distractions! Everyone will enjoy the show better indoors.
