2012 - Dream Big Library Magic Show Summer Reading Program

Thank you all for a wonderful summer 2011!  I had a great time performing “Magic from Around the World,” and audiences loved it.  I had the opportunity to perform the show for over 4,000 kids and their families.  (Read one of the fun articles written about the show HERE.)

If you haven’t already seen it, here’s a quick video of some of the fun we had:

I’ve been hard at work (getting an early start!) for 2012.  If your library is following the CSRP’s (Collaborative Summer Reading Program) theme, the 2012 theme is “Dream Big – Read.”  What a great theme!  It’s no secret that magicians are big dreamers (hey, we make the impossible possible every day).

My wife and I brainstormed for a few days, throwing around ideas that ranged from bedtime and dream books to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.  Then it hit us!  We decided it would be really neat to create a show using the dual meaning of the word, “dream.”  While it would be fun to just do a show themed around bedtime stories, it’s so much more powerful to show the kids how they can dream big and use books and hard work to make their dreams become realities.

So, my program for 2012 will do just that.  As always, my show will be tons of silly fun and kids and parents will experience wonder and laughter.  But, they’ll also be inspired to take action (starting with reading books from their library) and realize their dreams.

If you want a super-fun program that will have children rolling on the floor with laughter, but also encourage parents and kids to dream big and read, then Presto’s Dream Big Magic Show is your perfect solution.
